Post Suggestion: Diesel Locomotives?

Hi there, CoyoteRail, (First time Poster) here,

I had a suggestion for the dev, and this is based around the fact that we have atm, both Steam and Electric..

But what about Diesel locomotives?

I mean one idea that we could use (Especially if it is buildcraft involved is uing some sort of way to Distill oil into Diesel.. Another could be that Creosote could be used as a fuel to power the loco..

And finally since the steel/and Iron tanks hold (or rather can hold) this stuff like Oil/Creosote, wouldn't it be simple to create a loco that runs on diesel?

Any thoughts on this?

it has been discussed but the issue CJ has is he doesn't want to make diesels better than steam engines.
IRL, for the same sized engine, a diesel is actually less powerful than a steam engine. What makes diesels better is they don't need a full crew for each engine which makes chaining them much easier than steam engines. Diesels also have less maint costs and down time, are much faster at restarting, and have less supporting infrastructure cost than steam engines, oh and you can't have a boiler explosion with a diesel.
unfort the only things that translate into MC are the fuel costs, power, and boiler explosions, and even then these really aren't that big of a deal in MC.
